Overnight stay, Camp Kangiusaq.
Camp Kangiusaq is located deep in the landscape, not far from Nuuk, but far enough away to feel part of the wilderness. The boat ride here is an experience in itself – with views of icebergs, mountains, birds and wildlife. Once there, you can use the camp as a base to “just be”, relax, meditate… There are also several hiking routes, long and short hikes, giving you magnificent views of the icefjord. The waterside can also be explored; by kayak, paddleboard or borrow a fishing rod. At the end of the day we gather for dinner.
You sleep in a cozy tent camp, set up with simple facilities, with your own beds and quality tents. Local guides are included. Borrow paddleboards, kayaks and fishing rods along the way.
Fjord sailing in Nuuk, catch your own fish, eat at Restaurant Qooqqut Nuan.
An hour’s sail from Nuuk, chef Mads Bek and his wife have created a cozy restaurant in the beautiful countryside, where they create delicious dishes – including the fish you caught on the way here. As a restaurant, they grow their own vegetables and spices.
On this trip you will experience one of the world’s largest fjords, Nuuk, from the waterside and you will be able to set your line out to catch fish.
Although our guests often talk about “getting bites”, the restaurant has freshly caught fish so that you don’t catch anything. Furthermore, vegetarian dishes can be ordered.
Visit Qoornoq, the abandoned settlement.
The settlement of Qoornoq is an abandoned settlement, about 1 1/2 hours by boat from Nuuk, which today is used by Nuuk residents as a haven for relaxation in nature. From Qoornoq there are stunning views of the icefjord, often filled with the impressive icebergs. After a hike around the settlement, you will sail south and pass the beautiful waterfall behind Sermitsiaq Island before returning to Nuuk. Because it’s summertime, there’s a good chance of spotting whales and seals along the way.
