The ice sheet: A magnificent natural treasure.
Kangerlussuaq is one of the best places in the world to experience the majestic ice sheet. A drive from the city brings you to the edge of the huge ice mass that covers most of Greenland. Walking on the ice sheet is like stepping into another world – a frozen time capsule of ice – thousands of years old. The silence, the glittering ice crystals and the sweeping views give a sense of awe that is hard to explain. The silence feels “nice”, omnipotent, close to what some call the beating heart of Greenland.

Dogsledding: An Arctic tradition.
Few things feel as adventurous as a dogsled ride through the pristine landscape of Kangerlussuaq. As the sled dogs pull you through the snow-covered expanses, you’ll experience first-hand that dogsledding is not just a means of transportation – it’s an ancient tradition that connects people to the rhythm of nature.
Together with an experienced musher, you’ll gain insight into the life of sled dogs, cooperation between dogs, and cooperation between musher and dogs. You must dress warmly to withstand the cold. Gastronomic experiences.
After a day of great nature experiences, Kangerlussuaq’s cuisine awaits; local ingredients such as reindeer, musk ox and Arctic char are prepared with simple and refined techniques. Indulge in dishes that combine the traditional with the modern!
